Learning from workshops at Red Deer College, Edmonton City Arts Centre, and City of St. Albert Visual Arts Studios, Diane Gwilliam has become an irreplaceable facet of the local ceramic arts scene. She has been a member of the St. Albert Potters Guild since 1982 and has been an instructor to dozens of emerging potters.
When asked about her experience working with clay she says, “I am fascinated and rewarded by the way clay responds to the slightest touch whether spinning on a wheel or as a slab waiting for its evolution. I make both decorative and practical pieces that I want people to take home and cherish every day… I want my work to be aesthetic, strong and accessible.”
