Playful and charming, Crystal Driedger’s original acrylic and oil paintings feature vibrant colours, enchanting textures and gentle, whimsical shapes. Often her pieces are hand-carved into soft basswood or are painted with thick, buttery strokes of rich oil paint. Many of Crystal’s pieces are inspired by memories and imaginings from a childhood spent in the forests and fields of her family farm.
Crystal’s career started when she graduated from Grant MacEwan College in 2003 with a diploma in Design & Illustration. She was hired to illustrate for a company that made gift bags, wrapping paper and children’s books that sold at Walmart, American Greetings, Costco, Dollar Tree, Barnes & Nobles and more. In 2007 she left the shop and opened her own studio where she has continued to create work for the licensing world as well as educational material, children's books and editorial work.
Crystal’s studio is in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada where she works full-time as an artist and illustrator.
