Brenda Malkinson creates watercolour paintings, woodblock prints and contemporary stained glass. A graduate of the Alberta College of Art, Malkinson opened her first art studio in 1977 and began experimenting with glass, going on to create over 70 public and private glass commissions. Her woodblock prints are composed of observations of local flora and fauna and can be found in exhibitions and collections around the world. Her work has been recognized by numerous accolades and most recently was shortlisted for the 2019 Eldon & Anne Foote Edmonton Visual Arts Prize. Malkinson is an arts instructor with the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Extension and serves on the Board of Directors for the Alberta Craft Council and the Society of Northern Alberta Print Artists.
