December–Perfect Printmaking
Day: Thursdays
Time: 1:30–3 pm (1.5 hours per class)
Series Fee: $60/child per month (4 classes)
Location: Visual Art Studios, Painting Studio, St. Albert Place, 5 St. Anne Street
NOTE: Please contact our Registrar ( 780-459-1163) if you are a Homeschool parent interested in organizing a group of 10 children to take part in a visual art field trip of your choice. The minimum fee to book group art programs on select weekday afternoons from September to June is $150.
Upcoming Classes
- November 28: Mono Printing–Paint is added and/or removed from aluminum plates to create patterned one-of-a-kind prints.
- December 5: Foam Printing–Foam plates are incised with lines and texture using pens and pencils before inking them up to create multiple prints suitable for cards or framing.
- December 12: Lino Block Printing–Safety Kut Linoleum blocks are carved using a special cutter. Brayers are used to spread ink onto the block surface and barrens help transfer designs onto specialty papers.
- December 19: Silk Screen Printing–Silk screens are layered with ink blocking designs. Ink is added to the top of the screen and then pulled across the design with a squeegee to create prints on specialty paper.
