Community Recognition Garden

St. Albert has a long history of involved residents making a difference on the way of life in the community. This demonstration of community pride and belonging continues today.

The Community Recognition Garden is a tribute to the outstanding achievements by past and present St. Albert residents. The Community Recognition Garden received its inaugural list of recipients in 2010. The garden is a part of the Community Recognition Program which celebrates the achievements of residents in Arts and Culture, Citizenship, Professional Achievement, and Business.

Inspired by the Sturgeon River and the concept of time as a river, the Garden consists of five basalt boulders each weighing from three to six tonnes. The top of each stone has been carved to resemble waves. The sculptures sit on a platform above a dry riverbed, surrounded by natural grasses and vegetation.

Le Jardin de reconnaissance communautaire (Community Recognition Garden) rend hommage aux réalisations exceptionnelle passées et présentes des résidents de Saint-Albert. Le Jardin de reconnaissance communautaire a honoré sa première liste de bénéficiaires en 2010. Le Jardin fait partie du Programme de reconnaissance communautaire qui célèbre les réalisations des résidents dans les domaines suivants. les arts et la culture, la citoyenneté la réussite professionnelle. Les sports et les affaires.

Inspiré par la rivière Esturgeon et la notion de temps comme une rivière, le Jardin se compose de cinq blocs de basalte pesant chacun de trois à six tonnes. La partie supérieure de chaque pierre a été sculptée pour ressemble à des vagues. Les sculptures sont placées sur une plate forme au-dessus d’un ht de rivière à sec, entouré d’herbes naturelles et de végétation.
